Dive into the world of sewing with our Introduction to Sewing class at Sew Pinellas, thoughtfully structured across three informative weeks. Each 2-hour session is designed to progressively build your sewing skills in a supportive and creative environment:

  • Week 1: Taming the Machine

    • Get comfortable with the basic operations of a sewing machine.

    • Understand different settings, including adjusting stitches and changing needles.

    • Learn about seam allowances, machine control, and the importance of backstitches.

  • Week 2: Patchwork Pillow

    • Apply your skills to create a patchwork pillow.

    • Learn hand stitching to close the pillow, enhancing your precision and technique.

  • Week 3: Tote Bag

    • Challenge yourself with a sewing a box bottom tote bag.

    • Consolidate your learning by managing more complex layers and finishes.

Materials are provided for each class, allowing you to focus on learning and creativity. This course is perfect for beginners who want to start their sewing journey or for those looking to refresh their skills.
