Mama Needs a New Roof - Day 5 & 6
I kind of failed at writing an update on day 5, so this is a combined update. Yesterday was just nutty. I’ve been working on a marketing package for my other business Porcelynne this week, so I’ve been tied up more than usual. The idea that I’m working on is to create a designated structured display for small fabric stores like Sew Pinellas. I have basically been trying to best figure out how to display lingerie and bra making supplies for an independent fabric shop.
Since Sew Pinellas isn’t the only independent fabric store in the US, I’ve been thinking how I can show people how to display the specialty supplies my other business carries. Needless to say, I ran out of time to write up a post, but I did do my video - as a wrap up for what we are doing each day - promoting that Mama needs a new roof but also all the really cool things we have in the shop.
We will be doing a promo on Sunday and Monday for all our pre-cut fabric bundles. Buy 3, get your 4th for free. Our totals are still struggling to increase, but we did get a new member yesterday, so our totals are as follows:
Memberships $1800
Interfacing $3
Digital Pattern $4
Anyway, I wasn’t really expecting a lot so far. I mean by the time people see my videos, its days later, so I know it will come.
How about I share a little bit of business related stuff - aka financing.
I know I mentioned my creative financing and this is how some of it works: Several of the places that I accept payments through offer financing, they take a portion of the revenue from all payments processed to pay off the loan. Its honestly genius if you ask me. The companies know what I bring in from sales and extend, essentially, a cash advance against future sales. It’s never too much that I can’t budget how its paid back but it also doesn’t affect our credit scores. Plus the fees are set in advance and never increase no matter how long it takes me to pay it back. It really is comparable to a traditional loan when you break down all the fees charged from a loan over time.
We have presently taken out 2 loans like this to pay for the roof - one from Porcelynne’s sales and one from Sew Pinellas’s sales. We are waiting until the last possible moment before taking more credit lines out, but I feel like we can manage the roof with these terms. So, knowing that, every sale that goes through by credit card, 30% of that sale goes directly to the roof!
For today’s special, I’m going to be offering a free gift with every $100 purchase until next Friday August 28th, or until we are out of the free gifts. Want to know what those free gifts are? They include all our sample bags from our Level 2 sewing class. We need to keep a few for reference, but for each $100 purchase, get one of those bags. This promo will end when we are out of bags or until August 28th, whichever comes first.
