Mama Needs a New Roof - Day 1
I mentioned the roof in the previous post, but we are finally getting the official bids in for the roof. The rounded number? Can you say $80,000? Yes, that is a lot. We are going down the route of some short term financing, but we need help getting this roof funded. I’m not asking for charity, but I am going to run a 10 day campaign to help us raise some funds.
Here it goes. Day 1 is all about our memberships. The memberships pay for themselves, just think of it as an advance for what you will get.
Joining as a founding member helps us pay back these short term loans so we can get to the part you all want to see - the new space!
A membership is $300 a year. What does that get you? Glad you asked. Within 24 hours you will receive a couple coupon codes. One can be redeemed for any class of ours ($175 value). You can redeem this immediately, or wait for our expanded schedule for the new space. The other coupon can be used over and over again to receive 10% off any of our classes or socials.
What are the other perks you might ask? How about taking 10% off everything in the store, including sewing machines. And take 20% off any of the fabric pre-cut bundles! The best part is that you can use these coupons for the next 365 days. be that in our existing location or in our new and expanded location down the street. Become a member today!

Space updates:
I had an amazing muralist that I hand picked come by yesterday to discuss murals. I really like her vibe too and I can’t wait for you to see what she comes up with. Think each room with its own theme to create a welcoming environment for all.
We have removed all the ceiling tiles in the space, because those things are expensive and we wanted to save what we could. We also started the yard cleanup. If you drive by the new space, you can see a little bit of exterior work getting done. The problem is that its Florida and its hot as Hades out there, so we are going to try to work in the morning hours to do clean up. The vines growing on the back of the building are out of control!
The roof should be getting on its way in about a week or two, then the interior mold remediation begins. Did I mention that bill is $27,000?
I will be giving you a running total of the total we are able to raise for the roof in these next 10 days. Stay tuned here or on our social media for updates and how you can help us out. If you are super passionate to see this happen but aren’t looking to buy anything, you can always contribute directly to our roofing fund through the link at the bottom of the page under Donate. Note that we are NOT a nonprofit, so contributions to our funds are NOT tax deductible.
Funds Raised for the roof: $600
