Another Vintage & Costume Sale Coming up Sunday

Is it really Thursday already? This whole recovery thing is no joke. We had the first day of our costume sale on Sunday and sold about 50 of the 350 costumes/vintage that we had brought out. It was a good turnout, but we have 4 more weeks of this. I hope I didn’t bite off more than I can chew. At least I’m able to move around a little bit more.

We picked up about 100 pieces from The House of Make Believe yesterday. While its not as much as I was expecting to pick up, about half of them were fur bodies. We also have about 10 animal heads to go with them. We picked up some renaissance garments too.

Because our goal is to sell all the costumes and help raise funds for our renovation costs, we are going to run a promo in the afternoons from 12-2, that if you get 4 items, you get your 5th item free (lowest price item of course). There is still at least 5 double sided racks in the storage unit to bring over. In a few weeks, the Easter bunnies and Christmas/Santas will be coming over. The really good stuff sold first, so we are encouraging everyone to come get the stuff they can’t live without in the morning and come back in the afternoon to get the stuff you just want but don’t necessarily need.

Remember that you can support us, as opposed to Amazon or the big box retailers and keep the money in your community. We are investing in not only our own future, but the future of makers and designers.

I also have my eyes on several additional things we are bringing over from storage in the way of sewing - a roll of vinyl, a roll of black jersey, rolls of satin in white and in black, rolls of Hawaiian print fabric and a big roll of shiny orange fabric. These are all price from $3-5 a yard. I only have a couple of $1 a yard fabrics, but I’ll bring those too. How about some sewing machines. We have a beautiful vintage Kenmore, a newer Kenmore, some big big bags/boxes of polyfil and some other $20 sewing machines. We have 2 of out Necchi machines for $125 with warranties from Sew Pinellas. There really is a lot to bring over, just not sure what type of space we actually have available.

So, what are you doing this Sunday? Shopping in the parking lot of the new shop at 2901 58th Avenue North in St. Pete from 10-2.
