Want to Sew? New Intro Classes Just Dropped. Sew & Socialize Friday!
Hello Creative People!
Talk about a busy weekend. I mentioned last week that we would be redesigning the shop and the classroom. Well, I didn’t get a weekend because my husband and I rearranged the entire shop. If you were present this weekend you experienced the chaos. Sorry about that.
We are continuing to put the shop back together, but I really want you all to see what we have done. We plan to post pictures in our socials this week, but please come by and shop. We have had boxes and boxes of fabrics that we couldn’t put out before and I am happy to say, they all have a home in the shop now.
I have also made the executive decision that I’m not going to continue selling the Necchi Embroidery machines (C1200 & C2000), so my floor models are for sale. I also have a few store fixtures for sale, a dress form and a few used machines. I’ll have Katie post those up this week.
In class news, we have two new and exciting opportunities for you. The first is that we have a 12 session sewing bootcamp/volunteer training in which we teach you the basics, trouble shooting and also how to help manage a classroom. This is great for teens who want to help out with our summer camps or for parents who want to get involved with their kids over the summer. The price is already low for this one, but the cool thing is, after being a summer camp volunteer for 2 weeks, your money is refunded to you! No experience is necessary. (Background checks are required for the summer.)
The second opportunity is our Garment Class where we feature a swimsuit! More details are below. This class will run through the first part of the summer (about 3 months) then we will switch up the class again.
I will also be teaching some lingerie design and sewing classes in a few weeks. I will be teaching these at the Original Sewing Expo in Lakeland over Spring Break. Just search for my name (Jennifer Fairbanks). The drafting class is for any skill level. To participate in the sewing class, you should be able to operate a sewing machine without assistance.
Most of our March and April Level 2 and 3 classes are sold out. I am adding a Level 2 class Thursday mornings starting March 26th and I’m going to see about adding another level 2 and 3 in April, although with our cruise, that makes it a little hard. Stay tuned as I will continue to modify the schedule for what you all want.
Our growth has been amazing thanks to all of you. We are holding classes 7 days a week now, some days we have up to 3 classes going on. We could not have done this without you and my amazing staff.
Thank you for all being a part of Sew Pinellas!

Pro tip: check out those $1 grab bags and ask our team for help as everyone has can guide you with any of your sewing/crafting needs.
Stop in and see what catches your eye. Wander the fabric bolts, stack up unexpected color combos, and feel everything before you decide. The drape, the weight, the way it moves in your hands. These are the details that turn a decent project into something you're genuinely proud of, and there's no substitute for experiencing them in person.
While you're here, test out a Necchi machine and stock up on the quality tools that keep frustration at bay. Sharp scissors, dependable needles, every color of thread, and all those clever little essentials that make sewing more enjoyable.
Sometimes one incredible fabric is all it takes to spark your next big idea. Come browse, say hi to our experienced team, and discover what's waiting for you. We can’t wait to help you!
*Open Sewing is currently available on Fridays and Saturdays. Note that at times we have a class taking place, so you cannot use the main classroom for Open Sewing. Just Added…More Intro to Sewing Classes
Learn to Sew and Keep Learning More!
Our Intro to Sewing series (Levels 1, 2, and 3) have been filling up so quickly that we have added a few more sessions to meet demand. If you have been waiting for an opening, now is a great time to grab a spot before the next round fills up.
These popular three part series is designed to build your skills step by step. Each level runs for three weeks and builds on the techniques learned in the previous course. Students start with foundational skills in Level 1 and progress through more advanced techniques like working with patterns, sewing darts, and bias cutting in Level 3. By the end of each series, you will have the confidence and skills to tackle a wide range of sewing projects.
Whether you are brand new to sewing or ready to move up to the next level, these classes provide hands on instruction in a supportive studio environment. It is no surprise they are some of our most popular classes and they tend to fill quickly.
