Introduction to Sewing Level 3: Build Skills, Techniques & Confidence
Ready to level up your sewing game? This advanced beginner course is designed for sewists who’ve completed our Intro to Sewing Levels 1 & 2—or have equivalent experience—and are eager to dive deeper into technique and fabric finesse.
Throughout this hands-on class, students will create their own sewing reference notebook, filled with stitched samples and notes that can be used for future projects. We’ll work with a variety of fabrics—denim, chiffon, and knits—to explore how each behaves and how to sew them with success.
Skills we’ll cover include:
How to read and interpret a sewing pattern
Grading between sizes for a custom fit
Sewing darts for shaping
Cutting, pressing, and sewing bias strips
Introduction to basic quilting techniques
Finishing techniques and troubleshooting specialty fabric challenges
This class is both practical and creative—designed to help you build a stronger foundation in garment sewing while exploring new territory in textile handling and construction. If you’re ready to grow your skills, boost your confidence, and walk away with a notebook full of knowledge, this class is sew for you!
