After School Sewing & Fashion Design Program - Advanced (Ages 9–14)
Calling all young fashion lovers who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Our After School Sewing & Fashion Design Program is a hands-on experience designed for students ages 9–14 who already have basic sewing machine knowledge and want to dive deeper into the world of fashion creation.
Meeting nine times this fall on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, this program is thoughtfully aligned with the school calendar to offer a consistent creative outlet during the school year. This program is limited to 3 students and will work directly with Jennifer. If the instructor feels the student is not at the level required for this advanced program, we may change the student’s registration to the Beginner level program. Students will take inspiration from mood boards and design concepts to plan, sketch, drape, and construct an original garment from start to finish. They'll explore advanced sewing techniques, work with dress forms, and experiment with fabric manipulation to bring their vision to life.
In addition to their final garment, students may take on extra skill-building projects tailored to their interests and experience—encouraging creative exploration and technical growth along the way.
This program is ideal for young makers who are comfortable on a sewing machine and eager to push their creativity further. With a mix of structure, challenge, and creative freedom, students will leave with a custom-made garment and a deeper sense of confidence in their design skills.
